Marge
White resides in the majestic Sierra Nevada Mountains in California.
Spectacular skies, steep mountains, fanciful trees, old barns and
even the local flora and fauna provide subjects for her unusual
creations. White's use of specialty fabrics and a layered collage
technique enable her to achieve a variety of visual textures and
depth. To create her vivid pictographs, she glues cutouts of fabric
to a backing to form the picture, which is then heavily stitched
and layered. Dimensional hand appliqué adds the final touch.
Marge White:
"My use of specialty fabrics and a layered collage technique
enable her to achieve a variety of visual textures and depth. To
create her vivid pictographs, she uses a spray fabric glue onto
a flannel backing for each piece of fabric to form the picture,
which is then heavily stitched and layered. Dimensional hand appliqué
adds the final touch. I reside in the beautiful Sierra Mountains
in California. Spectacular skies, majestic mountains, fanciful trees,
old barns and even birds and animals are subjects for my unusual
creations. The character of these natural scenes will bring warmth
and serene beauty to that special wall. Commissions are welcomed.
My work is featured in THE GUILD Sourcebook, The Artful Home."
